Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 depending on experience and location

We are looking for a detail-driven Project Estimator to join our growing team at Associated Controls + Design (ACD). You’ll be at the heart of our Preconstruction department, helping to shape project proposals, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to deliver rock-solid bids. This role is ideal for a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in entertainment/installation lighting, stage rigging systems, or the equivalent in electrical or construction estimating fields who thrives in a fast-paced, team-centered environment

What you will do at Associated Controls + Design:
• Prepare and deliver detailed project cost proposals for stage lighting, rigging, audio-visual, and architectural lighting projects.
• Manage and update the department estimating calendar and track bid deadlines using Monday.com.
• Lead the end-to-end bid process, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and bid submission.
• Coordinate vendor quotes, verify product information, and ensure up-to-date pricing across shared resources.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to create accurate project scopes and estimates.
• Maintain organized project folders and files across shared drives and estimating platforms.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Sales Managers to finalize project proposals.
• Assist with bid bond documentation and subcontractor coordination when necessary.
• Support the field and project management teams by providing change orders, close-out documentation, and technical assistance.
• Build strong, professional relationships with vendors, clients, and internal team members.

What you bring:
• 3–5 years of industry experience in entertainment/installation lighting, stage rigging systems, or the equivalent in electrical or construction estimating fields.
• Strong understanding or stage lighting, DMX control systems, and architectural lighting control.
• Knowledge of audio-video, stage rigging, and other stage equipment systems is a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic commercial construction processes.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to read and interpret design specs, construction documents, and lighting plots (AutoCAD/Vectorworks experience a plus).
• Familiarity with estimating software (experience with JetBuilt preferred, but not required).
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to following safety protocols.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights when visiting project sites.

Freelance Installer – Stage Rigging & Theatrical Systems
Department: Installation
Reports to: Field Installation Manager
Travel: 100%
Status: Part-Time
Compensation: As negotiated. Travel expenses may either be invoiced to us by the contractor or ACD can make and pay for arrangements (flights, hotel, rental car, etc) for you.

Who we are looking for:
ACD is looking for a Freelance Installer to join our team on permanent rigging installation projects. The role involves working closely with our project foreman and fellow crew members to safely execute demolition and installation of rigging systems. Candidates should have at least 3 years of industry experience, be comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces, and possess a solid understanding of rigging practices.
You will assist with installations for stage rigging systems, stage lighting systems, orchestra pit equipment, and audio-video equipment—hanging battens, fixtures, speakers, etc—but always ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.

What you will do:
• Collaborating closely with the ACD project foreman and installation team to safely carry out the demolition and setup of rigging systems for permanent installations.
• Rigorously follow all safety regulations, including those set by OSHA, ETCP, and any applicable local authorities.
• Taking on additional duties as needed to support project success.

What you bring:
• Solid understanding of rigging techniques, tools and terminology
• Ability to oversee specific tasks or projects as delegated by the ACD project foreman
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the even production or rigging industry
• Physical capability to lift or push loads up to 65 pounds
• Comfortable working at heights and in constricted spaces
• A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to completing tasks to a high standard
• Consistent professional behavior on and off the jobsite
• Willingness and ability to complete required documentation or reports
• Dedication to upholding ACD’s standards for quality, safety, and professionalism on every project

Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Background in electrical distribution systems
• Experience with permanent rigging installation and familiarity with general construction environments
• Proficiency with scissor lifts
• Scaffold Certification
• ETCP Theatre Rigger
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction certification
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification
