Compensation: As negotiated. Travel expenses may either be invoiced to us by the contractor or ACD can make and pay for arrangements (flights, hotel, rental car, etc) for you.
Who we are looking for:
ACD is looking for a Freelance Installer to join our team on permanent rigging installation projects. The role involves working closely with our project foreman and fellow crew members to safely execute demolition and installation of rigging systems. Candidates should have at least 3 years of industry experience, be comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces, and possess a solid understanding of rigging practices.
You will assist with installations for stage rigging systems, stage lighting systems, orchestra pit equipment, and audio-video equipment—hanging battens, fixtures, speakers, etc—but always ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.
What you will do:
• Collaborating closely with the ACD project foreman and installation team to safely carry out the demolition and setup of rigging systems for permanent installations.
• Rigorously follow all safety regulations, including those set by OSHA, ETCP, and any applicable local authorities.
• Taking on additional duties as needed to support project success.
What you bring:
• Solid understanding of rigging techniques, tools and terminology
• Ability to oversee specific tasks or projects as delegated by the ACD project foreman
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the even production or rigging industry
• Physical capability to lift or push loads up to 65 pounds
• Comfortable working at heights and in constricted spaces
• A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to completing tasks to a high standard
• Consistent professional behavior on and off the jobsite
• Willingness and ability to complete required documentation or reports
• Dedication to upholding ACD’s standards for quality, safety, and professionalism on every project
Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Background in electrical distribution systems
• Experience with permanent rigging installation and familiarity with general construction environments
• Proficiency with scissor lifts
• Scaffold Certification
• ETCP Theatre Rigger
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction certification
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification

Installation Supervisor – Stage Rigging & Theatrical Systems

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 Annually
Who we are looking for:
ACD is looking for a Lead Installer to take the reins (and the rigging) on our dynamic, multi-service theatrical integration projects. This leadership role is ideal for a candidate with a minimum of 5 years stage rigging experience and 3 years supervisor experience, who’s ready to guide installation crews, collaborate with project managers, and bring creative problem-solving to each unique venue we work in. This role requires both hands-on technical skills and the ability to manage site personnel, maintain job timelines, and act as the onsite contact to clients, contractors, and other trades. You’ll lead field installations for stage rigging systems, stage lighting systems, orchestra pit equipment, and audio-video equipment—sometimes hanging battens, sometimes slinging cable, sometimes coordinating gear and labor—but always ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.

What you will do:
• Lead rigging and other theatrical systems installations in theaters, schools, churches, and specialty spaces—balancing safety, quality, and timelines.
• Manage field crews, set the tone for professional and productive work, and maintain a safe and respectful jobsite culture.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA, ETCP, and applicable local building and safety codes, and other site-specific requirements.
• Coordinate equipment and materials—yes, sometimes that means a little warehouse wrangling or gear troubleshooting.
• Uphold and enforce ACD’s high standards for installation quality and jobsite conduct.
• Identify field issues quickly and bring practical, positive solutions to the table. Communicate with Project Managers and Field Operations Manager regarding progress, issues, and required materials or support.
What you bring:
• Minimum 5 years of stage rigging experience (lighting and/or AV systems experience a plus).
• Minimum 3 years of supervisor experience, with proven ability to lead crews with professionalism and confidence.
• Installation or construction experience—swing a wrench and read a plan set.
• Comfort with heights, in tight spaces, and around creative chaos.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, safety mindset, and a drive to get things done right the first time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties.
• A valid driver’s license, and flexibility for travel (up to 75%).
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with drawing programs such as Vectorworks, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
• Experience in motorized hoist and automation systems.
• Experience in integrating rigging with other performance systems.
• ETCP Theatre Certified Rigger.
